Welcome to the Pembroke Graduate Parlour!
Pembroke College Graduate Parlour (GP) is the body of over 250 graduate students currently members of Pembroke College, Cambridge and is led by elected members of our student body. The GP is also the name of our shared common room.
The GP’s three main goals are as follows:
- To provide an accessible and welcoming space in the heart of college where you can meet a diverse range of new people and entertain friends, family members or other guests. With free tea, coffee (and often delicious cakes!) on offer you’re more than welcome to drop by any time to enjoy these, the plasma screen TV, stereos, magazines, newspapers and comfortable sofas. Our drinks cupboard (lovingly referred to as the Puboard) is frequently open, should you wish to enjoy a stronger drink or cocktail in the sunshine.
- To plan a variety of interesting events for graduate students of all ages and schedules, including college dinners, days out, sporting activities and matches, drinks evenings, family activities, yoga, movie screenings, themed events/parties (bops), barbecues and punting trips amongst others. We aim to create a strong sense of community among Pembroke grads and provide the resources and funding to support our members in doing the pursuits they enjoy, especially when shared with the rest of the GP.
- To ensure the welfare of the Pembroke graduate community by representing the interests of our members in college meetings, and by facilitating access to pastoral support and resources. We also provide a variety of welfare events such as free tea and cake every Sunday.
